An Exploration of Emotional Artificial Intelligence

Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) is a critical component of Emotional Artificial Intelligence, aiming to identify human emotions from speech and text for enhanced human-computer interaction (HCI). With the growing demand for conversational agents and personal assistants, automatic recognition of human emotion has emerged as a key task in enabling enhanced user experience. The challenge lies in accurately classifying emotions across diverse datasets, modalities, and model architectures, given issues like class imbalance, limited data, and varying emotional expressions. This project addresses the need for a comparative analysis of multimodal SER methods to determine effective approaches for emotion detection.
